Begging for AI protections
AI is coming for children’s education, and we should all be terrified. According to Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, a professor of education, psychology, and neuroscience at the University of Southern California, the goal of school assignments is not the finished project but the experience itself. This experience is exactly what AI tools are designed to minimize or eliminate. Pair this with brain scans of toddlers with 2-3 hours of screen use who are exhibiting dementia-like symptoms, and it’s alarming that we don’t want to protect the youth and let their brains develop first.
It’s the end of the Spirit era. After a failed bailout negotiation, Spirit Airlines has ceased operations. Since a failed merger deal five years ago, the airline has struggled to maintain operations, and though they were hardly the favorite among American airlines, they did offer a cheaper alternative to more prominent airlines. RIP.
Bad news for those of us who need to renew American passports: we will now be forced to carry passports that prominently feature the
lying scumbagpresident’s face. This is to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. The younger generations are not ok: 62% of 18-29-year-olds are now anticipating their lives to get progressively worse, and 80% of Gen Z Americans believe the United States is on the wrong track. It’s hard out here to be hopeful.
“How are you?” Such a simple question, but over time it has evolved into something flat and empty, optimized for ease. Instead of treating it like a performative exchange, ask when you are fully ready to listen and give your full attention.

I thought renewing my passport would be a pleasant upgrade. Not any longer!
